April 6, 2023, East Brunswick, NJ —Stephen Smith, Seaport Global Co-Founder, was honored by College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) on April 6th, 2023.
Stephen was recognized during the CAPS 10th Anniversary Gala and Fundraising event at The Chateau Grande in East Brunswick, New Jersey. All proceeds raised went toward the CAPS Summer Of A Lifetime (SOAL) program which provides opportunities for CAPS students to attend two-week summer programs at elite colleges and universities.
Stephen’s work on behalf of CAPS includes his tenure as a board member from 2013 to present. Stephen’s charitable work also includes co-founding ICEF Public Schools and serving as that organization’s Board Chairman from 1994 to 2010. CAPS serves over 3,400 students in the New Jersey area; ICEF serves over 4,400 students in South Central Los Angeles, CA.
At the gala, Stephen shared “My personal vision, 25 years from now, is not to have a 25-year-old building with my name on it. It’s to have people who are changing the world based on the foundation of a high-quality education.”
