Michael Meagher,
CEO

Michael Meagher is co-founder and CEO of Seaport Global.

Michael has enjoyed a long career on Wall Street in distressed debt sales and trading, beginning at Salomon Brothers in the mid-1980s. He has also held senior management positions at Kidder Peabody, Lehman Brothers and Amroc Securities. He started his career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office for Robert Morgenthau.

Michael received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Marquette University and a JD from Cornell Law School.

Michael is a board member for God’s Love We Deliver.

Michael J. Meyer,
Head of Global Sales and Trading

Michael Meyer is Head of Global Sales and Trading at Seaport Global.

Michael had been Partner and Head of Sales and Trading at The Seaport Group, and before Seaport, he was Head of Global Investment Grade Trading and Sales for Bank of America. Previously, he managed the US Corporate Bond Trading Desk for UBS Securities, his former positions include Managing Director of Fixed Income at Merrill Lynch and Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Michael holds an AB in Political Science from Duke University.

Stephen C. Smith,
Head of Seaport Global Asset Management

Stephen C. Smith is Head of Seaport Global Asset Management and was co-founder of The Seaport Group.

Before Seaport, Stephen was a Senior Salesperson at Amroc Securities where he generated a solid supply of sales and trading ideas and proactively expanded the depth and number of client relationships. Previously, he helped found distressed debt broker-dealer Libra Investments, which later became U.S. Bancorp Libra, and opened and managed their New York City office. Before Libra, Stephen was a Salesperson and Vice President at Jefferies Group in New York, and began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch.

Stephen graduated with a BS in Finance from Indiana University.

He has been a board member for Inner City Education Foundation since 1994.

Victor Kurylak,
COO

Victor Kurylak joined Seaport Global in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer.

He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee, working with the leadership team to help drive the firm’s profitability, strategy and operational efficiency. Victor has over 35 years of experience in financial services, including C-level positions at securities brokerage, investment advisory, capital markets and family office firms including Rockefeller Financial Services, County NatWest Government Securities and Montauk Financial Group.

Victor earned his BS in Engineering from Princeton University.

Faisal Mian

Head of Emerging Markets

Faisal Mian is the Global Head of Emerging Markets Sales & Trading at Seaport Global.

Faisal has worked in the finance industry since 1996, beginning his career as research analyst covering telecoms, utilities, banks and sovereign credits. His experience includes senior positions on the Emerging Markets Credit Trading desks at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley, where he was instrumental in building market leading client franchises and was responsible for managing risk across regions. Most recently, Faisal co-founded Liquidity Finance which he has led since 2009. A boutique firm specialized in trading Emerging Markets bonds across CEE, LATAM, MENA and ASIA sovereign and corporate issuers, Liquidity Finance merged with Seaport Global in 2022.

Faisal graduated from Hampshire College with a B.A. Degree in Economics and holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration and International Relations from Columbia University.

Michael Evelyn,
Head of Business Development

Michael Evelyn is the Head of Business Development for Fixed Income Sales and Trading at Seaport Global.

Before joining Seaport Global in 2013, Michael ran the Debt Capital Markets business in the Americas for Commerzbank AG, and prior to that, he was a Managing Partner at Maratan Partners LLC. He managed the FIG DCM team at Barclays after co-founding and co-heading the debt business for WR Hambrecht. As a Managing Director at both Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank, he held positions including Head of High-Grade Trading and Head of Debt Syndicate. Michael began his career at Salomon Brothers in 1987.

Michael has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and an AB in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.

Jennifer Gardner,
Vice President of Finance

Jennifer Gardner is the Vice President of Finance at Seaport Global. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer was Associate Director at Postlethwaite & Netterville. She began her career at Ernst and Young.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Spring Hill College and a Master of Accounting from Louisiana State University.

Jack Mascone,
Head of Capital Markets

Jack Mascone is Head of Capital Markets at Seaport Global.

Jack was Head of US Convertible Bonds for Bank of America before coming to Seaport Global, and prior to that, he held senior-level positions at JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch trading corporate and convertible bonds. Jack started his career in finance after serving as an officer in the US Navy, where he resigned his commission as a Lieutenant (O-3) and earned the Naval Achievement Medal twice and a Naval Commendation Medal, among other awards.

Jack holds an AB in Economics from Duke University.

Greg Ransom,
Head of Credit Research

Greg Ransom leads Seaport Global’s Fixed Income Research effort. He is a Senior Research Analyst focused on the high-grade industrial universe, and has run Fixed Income Research for Seaport Global since 2009.

Before Seaport, Greg was Head of High-Grade Corporate Bond Research at Bank of America, following his tenure as a Senior High-Grade Industrials Research Analyst at JP Morgan.

Greg holds a BS in Business Management from Boston University and an MBA from Rice University as well as a CFA designation.

Matthew Schandler,
Chief Technology Officer

Matthew Schandler is the Chief Technology Officer at Seaport Global. Prior to joining the firm, he was Director of IT for Global Hunter Securities and CK Cooper & Company.

Matthew holds a BS in Computer Information Systems from Chapman University and studied Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California.

Jonathan Silverman,
General Counsel

As General Counsel, Jonathan Silverman has managed all aspects of the firm's legal needs since 2004. Before joining Seaport, he was an associate at the law firm Emmet, Marvin & Martin, LLP, where he handled loan sales and other commercial credit matters.

Jonathan holds an AB from Duke University and a JD from The George Washington University Law School.

David Small,
Director of Global Operations

David Small is the Director of Global Operations at Seaport Global, playing an important role in the performance and leadership of the Operations team.

Prior to joining the firm in 2010, David's extensive industry experience included ten years at UBS and positions at Mitsubishi and Merrill Lynch.

David holds a BA in Political Science from Susquehanna University.

Lisa Lieberman,
Managing Director, Human Resources

Lisa Weiss runs Human Resources at Seaport Global, where she implements practices that enable the firm to recruit and retain a top-tier workforce.

Previously, Lisa was the Director of Human Resources at The Seaport Group and Director of Marketing at IPO Group, Inc. She began her career at J. Walter Thompson and Foote, Cone & Belding.

Lisa holds a BS cum laude from The S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.

Markus Witthaut,
Chief Compliance Officer

Markus Witthaut is Chief Compliance Officer at Seaport Global.

Markus was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at The Seaport Group, and before that, he was the Vice President of Finance and FINOP at IPO Group, Inc.

Markus holds an BA in Economics from Boston College and an MBA in Accountancy from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. He is accredited as a Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Institute at Wharton.
