Wednesday, March 20 2024, New York, NY – Steve Shaw, Managing Director at Seaport Global, hosted CitySquash at LifeTime Fitness in Harrison NY for a squash and career day discussion event. Steve and Terrance Li of City Squash combined academic excellence with team sports camaraderie.
10 college level students, all City Squash alum, participated in the event. Steve coordinated with professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including lawyers, commercial real estate, sports management, and pharmaceuticals as well as finance. The event was structured to play a few games with the students; building relationships and camaraderie and then discuss respective career paths, how to get there and what the job entails etc.
Steve and each of the professionals chatted with the students about careers in finance in particular. They were all very engaged and, as you can imagine at this point in their life, trying to figure out what career to pursue.
Seaport hosted an intern, Jesse Brew, from the CitySquash program last year who came to the event. Jesse is at Amherst College but has already been offered a position for 2025 at RBC Capital. We are pleased to support his professional development through our strategic partnership with this fantastic organization.
